After years of fighting for this…..
And many painful sleepless nights….
Longing to be with our kids….
In April, the Governor officially signed our custody bill into law! Now the state of Nebraska requires all judges to consider the overwhelming scientific evidence:
Children do better when they have equal time with both parents.
Now all Nebraska judges MUST take into account the psychology study that proves without a doubt that 50-50 custody is better for kids.
LET YOUR JUDGE KNOW - SPREAD THE WORD!
Until now, only 32% of dads receive 50/50 custody after divorce.
And even fewer Dads receive full custody.
That means millions of moments lost.
That means hearts broken. And many painful tears. That means separating kids from parents all over the state.
⸻
To the children who have cried missing a parent…
To the kids who grew up without enough time with their dad…
To the dads who missed school drop-offs…
Missed bedtime hugs….
Missed the little moments that matter most…
We fought for you.
⸻
To every father who battled through the courts for more time…..
Who refused to give up…..
Who knew their underrated presence mattered..…
Who knew that a Dad means more to a child than we can possibly imagine.
We fought for you.
⸻
And today—
Nebraska took a step toward putting children first.
This is bigger than Dads.
This is about kids having both parents in their lives.
That’s why when I called every single Nebraska senator to fight for our bill I told them….
This isn’t about Moms….
This isn’t about Dads….
THIS IS ABOUT THE CHILDREN.
We were fighting for YOU.
And finally after all of the really sad difficult and painful nights away from our kids.….
Today we won. For you.
All glory be to God.
Big thanks to Alex Gurnsey and Timothy Jensen and Nolan Gurnsey as well as Mark Ludwig. And most of all, tremendous thanks to Senator Jared Storm and Riley Herchenbach for sponsoring the bill. Your effort and hard work will pay dividends to children and families all over the state for many years to come.
Dads Matter Everywhere.
